Star Wars Celebration Anaheim

Well, this is like only the coolest thing ever.

Any hardcore Star Wars fan that has ever had the opportunity to check out a Star Wars Celebration convention knows fully well that it is the single most greatest, most awesome, most incredibly spectacular event one could ever attend to indulge in all things Star Wars for 4 days straight. Anything and everything you can possibly think of is there – from collectable merchandise, Star Wars celebrities (many of whom you can meet, get autographs from and even take pictures with), exclusive footage from upcoming movies or TV series episodes, props from the films themselves, and even the chance to check out the latest and greatest in Star Wars gaming. It’s all there, and the best part is that you get to enjoy it with thousands of other fans like yourself!

But unfortunately, not everyone can be there. Life just gets in the way, for better or for worse. I was personally able to attend Star Wars Celebration III-V, but missed out on VI, and will once again not be able to witness what is surely to be the greatest one ever at Celebration Anaheim. But this time, we won’t have to miss out entirely. For the first time ever, Verizon has teamed up with StarWars.com to live stream “highlights and more than 30 hours of exclusive video content” from the event starting April 16th. Hit the jump for the official press release!

Ant-Man

The second trailer for Marvel’s Ant-Man is here! While I can honestly say that this trailer grabs me more than the first, I am still not quite sure I will be able to take this one as seriously as most of Marvel’s past efforts. Somehow, we’re supposed to accept a tiny little guy the size of an insect as a superhero like we accept the likes of Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, etc., since Ant-Man eventually becomes a part of the Avengers.

Sure, all of it is fantasy, and none of its real. I get that. But to me, in live-action form, the concept of Ant-Man seems more fitting for a character in Guardians of the Galaxy, where its connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but maybe not meant to be taken as seriously. It’s just way more out there to me than any of the other Avengers, so to fit him in with those other characters will be a challenge for sure when he eventually teams up with them. Nevertheless, I still have faith that Marvel will somehow pull this off. They have long since earned my trust ever since Phase one of the MCU was concluded with The Avengers.

avengers: age of ultron

And here it is: The final trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. Are you pumped?! Well, this trailer sure is, as it is basically a montage of action sequences strung together, showcasing each Avenger and how awesome they are. Nothing wrong with that, but I feel the other trailers that have proceeded this one were more dramatic. Anyhow, watch the trailer now, and prepare yourselves for the movie’s May 1st release!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Back in December, /Film reported that they had been informed that the next trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be attached to Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron when the highly-anticipated film from director Joss Whedon debuts May 1st. Disney owns both Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm, and The Avengers sequel is guaranteed to have a huge opening weekend and massive box office sales in general during its theatrical run, so it comes as no surprise that this turned out to be official as of yesterday. The X-Files Limited Series

After it was revealed at the 2015 Winter TCA Press Tour that the success of the limited run season of 24 (titled 24: Live Another Day) spawned discussions at Fox about bringing back the TV network’s other mega-hit series The X-Files in a similar fashion – fans of the show from all over the world got excited. REALLY excited. After all, 20th Century Fox’s attempt in 2008 at a second feature film of the show, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, did not do nearly as well at the box office as the studio had hoped, and the situation all but sealed the deal on there ever being a third feature, let alone one that would wrap up the miscellaneous loose ends left open at the end of the series’ run back in 2002.

Recently, rumors fluttered the internet claiming that a green light was imminent for The X-Files to return to television in the limited run format that Fox chairman and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman suggested back in January. Today, after years of fan campaigning, it has been made official. Read on for the official press release and more!

My Bloody Valentine 1981

While a rom-com romp starring Sandra Bullock or Tom Selleck might be the obvious choice for a night in on Valentine’s Day, there’s something to be said for sitting through a gruesome bloodbath with your significant other. Vampires have an enduring allure, and there’s a mysterious charm in the way that zombies refuse to make eye contact. Even a chainsaw can be endearing in context. Stop me before I say too much; make it through one of these frightful flicks with the object of your affection and you’ll know you’ve found a keeper.

The X-Files: Fight the Future

Today may be the start of a new beginning for fans of the extremely successful Fox TV series The X-Files (1993-2002).

Fans all over the world have been waiting and hoping for years now that there just might be hope for a third X-Files theatrical film, even though the second feature, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, wasn’t as successful at the box office as 20th Century Fox had hoped it would be back in 2008 (remind us all again, Fox, why you decided to release it only ONE WEEK after The Dark Knight?!!). All these years later, fans still want closure to the ever popular alien colonization plot from the series.

While a third feature film seems to be looking less and less likely, Fox chairman and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman confirmed at the 2015 Winter TCA Press Tour that there have been discussions with X-Files series creator Chris Carter about a possible revival of The X-Files – but for television, and that they want David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson back! The Avengers: Age of Ultron

The second trailer for Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron, which aired during Monday night’s NCAA College Football Playoff Championship Game, is now online for comic geeks to watch as many times as humanly possible. To be honest, while this of course looks great, I was more impressed by the first trailer, which featured more of Ultron. But you can watch below and decide for yourself. And hey, this one has a bit more Hulk…

Ant-Man

In case you missed it during last night’s premiere of Marvel’s Agent Carter, the new teaser trailer for Marvel’s Ant-Man has arrived online for all to see!

Surprisingly, this looks pretty cool, however the trailer doesn’t show much of Ant-Man’s abilities. All we see here is his ability to shrink in size and ride a flying ant. In the comics, he’s been known to do much more than that. Will we see his ability to control swarms of insects? Will he become Giant Man in this film? As far as his character becoming one of The Avengers is concerned, he looks pretty weak here by comparison. Fun, for sure, but weak. But I have the feeling that will all change when we see the full movie. Hit the jump!
