Marvel’s The Avengers really was a game-changer for comic book movies this past summer, exceeding just about everyone’s expectations for what the film could be and grossing more than $623 million in the U.S. alone. Now that Phase One of the Avengers lineup has been completed, fans are eagerly awaiting what’s in store for the next set of films to be released leading up to The Avengers 2. While Thor: The Dark World is slated to hit theaters November of next year, Iron Man 3 is the first film of Phase Two that we have to look forward to, and is probably the most anticipated of the bunch.
In the first trailer for the film, which just debuted today, we get a glimpse of a darker Iron Man story. The stakes are a lot higher this time around since the events of The Avengers, the villains seem like more of a threat, and Tony Stark appears to be somewhat of a changed man because of it all. For being the first trailer for the film, there is quite a lot to behold and take in, and is definitely enough to get fans excited for the film’s release next May. Hit the jump to watch!

After nine months, we finally have the second full-length trailer for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, part one in The Hobbit trilogy, and it does not disappoint. Here we get to learn and see much more of Bilbo’s journey with Gandalf and the dwarves, his encounter with Gollum in the cave, and we even get our first real look at a new wizard, Radagast the Brown, who appears to be quite different than that of Saruman or Gandalf.
The trailer seamlessly blends the darker action/adventure aspect of the film with the lighthearted humor of the dwarves and Bilbo, and shows plenty of new footage (but not too much) to make up for the nine months that have gone by since the first trailer appeared (and yes, I am aware of trailer 1.1 that had a few bits of new footage, but I don’t really count that one). Ringers, brace yourselves, as we are only three months away from the debut of the first of three Hobbit films! Hit the jump to check out the new trailer!
Update: Four alternate endings to the trailer have been released online as well, via Warner Brothers’ new online app called Choose Your Moment. You can watch all four of these endings after the trailer below!

If you have been seeing a sudden boost in Star Wars news lately, it is mainly due to the recent Star Wars Celebration VI convention held in Orlando, FL this past weekend. For starters, we were given our first look at Seth Green and Matthew Senreich’s Star Wars Detours, followed shortly thereafter with the announcement of Star Wars Episodes II & III getting released in 3D back-to-back in 2013.
But of course, the main focus with Star Wars right now is Cartoon Network’s hit television series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which will be entering its fifth season on September 29th. Fans of the show can say with confidence that it has grown exponentially since the feature film and first couple of seasons, and this latest trailer for the series (first shown at Celebration VI) puts this on display with absolute perfection.
This is not really so much a kiddie show anymore, folks. Not only do we get more Death Watch, Savage Opress, and Darth Maul this time around, but we also get to finally see the Sith master himself, Darth Sidious, in person getting in on the action, flawlessly wielding two lightsabers. The trailer really shows us that the series will take on a much more serious and darker tone, and also deal with the major repercussions of the Wars themselves and what they mean to the future of the Republic and the Jedi. Hit the jump to watch the new three-and-a-half minute trailer for Season Five!

Details have been scarce regarding Seth Green and Matthew Senreich’s (creators of Robot Chicken) upcoming Star Wars spinoff series, Star Wars: Detours, but now that has all changed, thanks to a panel they held at Star Wars Celebration VI, the latest Star Wars convention currently happening in Orlando, Florida this weekend.
The show was first announced over two years ago, with StarWars.com making the official announcement, and George Lucas himself vaguely discussing it later that year at Celebration V. The only details known at the time were that the show, then titled Squishies, would appeal to all ages, and utilize characters from all corners of the Star Wars universe to tell comedic stories dealing with “normal, mundane everyday problems.”
Yesterday, the Star Wars Detours Facebook page was unveiled, and today the first trailer and clips from the new animated TV show that were shown at Star Wars Celebration VI have now made their way online for all to enjoy. Hit the jump to watch!
Update: Three More Clips have made their way online, and are now available to watch after the jump as well.

Frank Miller’s Batman: The Dark Knight Returns is one of the most popular graphic novels in comic book history. When it first debuted in 1986, it redefined what could be done with the character, and took him to darker places than ever before.

This weekend, moviegoers who got the chance to see Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises got the chance to preview one of two teaser trailers for director Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot, Man of Steel, which Nolan is producing. The two teasers are basically the same in terms of footage, with one featuring a voice-over by Kevin Costner, who plays Jonathan Kent, the adoptive father of Clark Kent/Superman, and one with Russel Crowe lending his voice to the preview as Superman’s biological father, Jor-El, from the planet Krypton.
Both are worth a look, and definitely get this blogger quite anxious to see the new, darker version of Superman that Warner Brothers is going for. I hope this take on the Man of Steel will do well for DC Comics and Warner Brothers, as the last Superman film, Superman Returns, ended up not being a financial success in the eyes of the studio. I actually enjoyed the film quite a bit, but what are you going to do, right? Hit the jump for the first teasers for Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot.

When we finally own all three of director Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight films on blu-ray and have our Batman marathons, it will work in a similar fashion to The Lord of the Rings trilogy in that it will feel like one gigantic film. These epic “comic book” movies can really be looked at as one big story arc with a beginning, middle, and an end.
A new trailer has been released (yes, another trailer) that takes a unique approach to The Dark Knight Rises, in that it does not just show us clips from the new film, but illustrates just how exactly this big story arc runs throughout all three Dark Knight films. You really see just how the trilogy will feel when watched back to back.
I don’t think I have ever been more excited to see The Dark Knight Rises than after watching this trailer. Hit the jump to check out five and a half minutes of sheer awesomeness!
