You have to hand it to the Underworld franchise. When the first one came out in 2003, I enjoyed it well enough for what it was, but never thought it had the potential to spawn three more films. The action was pretty awesome, but the plot and characters weren’t anything to write home about. Nevertheless, every three years a new film came out, and admittedly the story proved to become more and more interesting the further we delved into the Underworld universe. They’re still nothing phenomenal, but they really are true popcorn movies at their best, and that’s nothing to be ashamed about – especially since the franchise continues to show no signs of fading away.
Since the fourth film in the series, Underworld: Awakening, is coming out very soon (January 20th), two more trailers for the film have debuted online. One trailer, titled “Legacy,” is more of a recap of the history of Kate Beckinsale’s character, Selene, and the war between vampires and lycans. The other trailer focuses more on the vampire/lycan hybrid child, Eve, and what her role is in the war. Both showcase plenty of action, so hit the jump to check them out!

The trailers just don’t stop, do they? Well, at least not during the holiday season anyway.
After seeing the first trailer for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit, any trailer that premieres right afterward sure has quite a bit to compete against. However, Ridley Scott’s long-awaited return to science fiction film-making is a pretty big deal as well, so what better act to follow The Hobbit trailer than a teaser for Prometheus – Scott’s “kinda-sorta” prequel to his original 1979 Alien film? It just popped up online over at Apple today, following a series of 30-second behind the scenes clips that were released over the last few days. Hit the jump to watch the teaser and the clips!

Tons of trailers have been popping up online in the past couple of weeks, whetting our appetites for some of the most anticipated movie releases of 2012 – including films like Men in Black III, John Carter, The Expendables 2, and, of course, The Dark Knight Rises. Now, while The Dark Knight Rises certainly tops that list, in my opinion it doesn’t hold a candle to the first trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey – Part 1 of Peter Jackson’s epic two-part film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s beloved story.
Yes, the trailer just debuted late last night online, which means you can now finally get your first look at Bilbo, Gandalf and the dwarves as they begin their quest across Middle Earth to defeat Smaug the dragon and reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor! This is not just a teaser either, and believe me when I say that this is truly the movie trailer to end all trailers. Hit the jump to check it out!

The time has come. You can forget that lame bootleg trailer with the horrible picture and sound that made its way online a few days ago, because the full theatrical trailer for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises has finally hit the web! This one showcases a bit more action than in the previous teaser released last July, and gives us plenty of Bane, Selina Kyle (Catwoman), and, of course, Batman to feast our eyes upon – making us all the more impatient to see the film next year. Without going into too much detail, let’s just say it has all you could want from a trailer for one of the most anticipated films of 2012, and you should just hit the jump to watch it immediately.

This is it folks. It’s been ten years since we first witnessed the beginning of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and now fans can finally catch the first trailer for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey with The Adventures of Tin Tin next week in theaters on December 21st!
This, of course, makes perfect sense since Jackson served as producer on Tin Tin. Also, since Tin Tin is playing in 3-D, it is more than likely that the trailer for The Hobbit will also be shown in 3-D, since both of The Hobbit films were shot in that format. As a fan myself, I will definitely be coughing up the extra couple of bucks to catch Tin Tin in 3-D for this very reason.
To hold you over until then, hit the jump to re-watch the fourth production video for The Hobbit, which dives into how they went about filming The Hobbit films in 3-D!

Yahoo! Movies has just released the second theatrical trailer for Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. So far, based on the previous trailer as well as this one, this latest adaptation of the Marvel comic looks like it will at least top the original – which really shouldn’t be that hard. Directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (Crank) really do have quite a bit riding on this film, since the first one by director Mark Steven Johnson just didn’t really work. Looks like they could actually pull it off! Hit the jump to watch!

Some people might call Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables a guilty pleasure at best. For me, it was cinematic genius. Fans of 80s action movies could not ask for a better throwback film to an era when it was simply all about good guys vs. bad guys. Nothing but blood, guts, and mayhem.
So needless to say, action film fans are highly anticipating The Expendables 2, once again starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews and Randy Couture. The film also includes newcomers Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris. Yes, it really is that awesome. Hit the jump to check out the first teaser trailer from Apple!

I have always been a fan of the first two Men in Black movies. They’re ridiculous, hilarious, and overall pleasantly entertaining. It seriously was a genius move to team up Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in a sci-fi comedy film series, and it was only a matter of time before a third film would eventually make its way to the big screen.
Fast forward nearly ten years later, and we now finally get to take a sneak peek at Men in Black III in the first teaser trailer that debuted today on YouTube. Directed once again by Barry Sonnenfeld and shot in 3-D, the film hits theaters nationwide May 25, 2012. Check out the teaser after the jump!

Disney has unleashed the first full epic trailer today for their upcoming fantasy film, John Carter, starring Taylor Kitsch. Adapted from the famous Edgar Rice Burroughs’ novel, John Carpenter of Mars, the story follows the title character as he is mysteriously transported from Earth to Mars, where he winds up entangled in an epic war amongst the inhabitants of the planet who end up depending on Carter’s leadership to pave the way for their survival.
The following preview sells the film quite well, much more so than the first teaser that debuted this past July. Definitely looking forward to this one (despite the fact that “of Mars” was dropped from the title for no apparent reason). Hit the jump to check it out!

Life’s Too Short, the new TV comedy from Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant (The Office, Extras), has already been successfully entertaining British audiences since its premiere on BBC Two November 10th. While it has been known for a while that the series will premiere in February of next year in the United States on HBO, it was officially announced today that it will indeed premiere on February 19, 2012 at 10:30PM /9:30c.
This hilarious, yet endearing TV series stars actor Warwick Davis (Return of the Jedi, Willow, Harry Potter), who plays a comically fictionalized version of himself as he makes his way in the world of showbiz as well as his own personal life. While Davis is the star of the show, it also showcases numerous appearances by Gervais and Merchant, as well as a number of guest appearances by other high-profile actors such as Liam Neeson, Johnny Depp and Steve Carell. Hit the jump to watch the trailer, as well as a couple of video clips featuring Depp and Neeson!
