It’s here. The official full-length trailer for The Expendables 2 is now online, complete with all the over-the-top explosions, gunfire, chase sequences, and cheesy one-liners you can swallow in two and a half minutes (that’s a good thing, by the way). This particular trailer features more of Stallone, Willis, Schwarzenegger (he’s back!), Van Damme, and Statham, but pretty much every major action star can be seen at some point. Prometheus

International trailers don’t normally make their way onto PopcornMonster.com, but the new three-minute UK trailer for director Ridley Scott’s Prometheus is just too cool to ignore. While it does feature more plot details and footage that could be considered spoilers (more is revealed in this trailer than in previous trailers, but it doesn’t give everything away), you know you want to watch anyway. In the new trailer, we find out more about Charlize Theron’s character, and we’re also given glimpses of some cool new alien lifeforms! Hit the jump to witness yet again why this film is one of the most anticipated movies of Summer 2012!

g i joe retaliation

The second full theatrical trailer for Paramount Picture’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation has hit the web, and it of course packs all the punches when it comes to action. It should be noted that this trailer also seems to contain more plot details than the first trailer, which may be considered minor spoilers to some. Hit the jump to watch Cobra missles level out a significant portion of London, and Joes blasting away at things.

dark knight rises

I don’t think I am the first person to say that it kind of feels like the summer blockbuster season has already arrived. Last month, The Hunger Games was released, and it immediately became a similar phenomenon to the best-selling book it is based on, staying #1 at the box office four weekends in a row and making ridiculous amounts of cash. John Carter also debuted in March, and, while it performed rather poorly at box office (due to an incredibly dim-witted marketing campaign), it was still a film that possessed the scale of an epic sci-fi summer blockbuster in terms of its visuals, action, and storytelling.

Nevertheless, the summer movie season has yet to begin, and we can be sure that we still have plenty of geek-tastic movies to look forward to during the hot weather. Legendary superheroes, gun-blasting mercenaries, a vampire-hunting U.S. President, alien worlds and more are all taking over the silver screen in the next few months, so believe me when I say that this is one blockbuster season you do not want to skip out on. Total Recall

Everyone I talk to about the Total Recall remake just cannot picture it without Arnold Schwarzenegger as Douglas Quaid, therefore automatically coming to the conclusion that a remake is just a bad idea altogether. But if one revisits the original classic 1990 film, it is undeniably dated (although it is still great fun to watch). In addition, the famous short story by Phillip K. Dick that the film was based on, We Can Remember It For You Wholesale, isn’t dependent on a ridiculously muscular hero in the lead. It is possible that the story could benefit from a more modern retelling in movie form. The story will simply stand on its own if the film is cast properly and the new adaptation is well written.

Today, the first full trailer for director Len Wiseman’s retelling of Total Recall has hit the web over at Apple, and it definitely sells the film quite well, showcasing the story, some great futuristic settings, and intense action sequences. The film stars Colin Farrell as Quaid, and co-stars Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston and Bill Nighy. It hit theaters everywhere August 3rd. Hit the jump to watch the trailer!

Snow White and the Huntsman

Even though Mirror, Mirror has yet to make its way into theaters, I think it is already safe to say that Snow White and the Hunstman is the Snow White film we are all really looking forward to this year (okay, I know, kids will love Mirror, Mirror). This particular retelling of the classic tale does not appear to have the light-hearted, comedic tone that Mirror, Mirror has, but rather a darker, more epic feel on the scale of The Lord of the Rings films, which I’m sure will sit much better with adult audiences.

While the first trailer set the stage for what to expect with the film, this new trailer gives us more of the story, shows off more of the acting from the main cast (Charlize Theron appears to be quite exceptional), and visually lets us know that we have no reason to expect anything less than monumental with its special effects and action sequences. It will most likely never be the next Lord of the Rings (go see The Hobbit this December for that), but it appears to have some serious potential – despite Snow White being played by Twilight’s Kristen Stewart. And hey, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is in it! Hit the jump to watch this incredible trailer!

Prometheus

If you thought the teaser that debuted this past December for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus was jaw-dropping, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. The new full trailer – for what I like to call the “kinda-sorta” prequel to Scott’s original 1979 Alien film – has finally made its way online today, and it does not disappoint. Not only does it do a great job at convincing us that this film will be everything fans of the Alien franchise have been hoping for, but it also shows that this film truly has the potential to be the summer film to end all summer films this year. To put it bluntly, it looks epic… and terrifying. Hit the jump to watch!

Dark Shadows 2012

After hearing about the film for quite a while now, and seeing various images pop up online, Apple has finally debuted the first trailer for director Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows a mere two and a half months before the film’s release on May 11th. The film, based on the hit gothic horror soap opera that aired from 1966-1971, stars Johnny Depp (who else?) as the vampire Barnabas Collins, originally played by actor Johnathan Frid in the TV series.

The original show featured werewolves, ghosts, witches, warlocks, zombies, and other supernatural elements, which helped it gain quite the cult following over the years. Judging from the trailer for Tim Burton’s feature film adaptation, Burton seems to be going for more of a comedic tone, which is somewhat odd because the original TV series, while campy by today’s standards, certainly wasn’t considered a comedy. Hit the jump to watch the trailer and see what you think.

Men in Black 3

Men in Black III has been through quite a bit in the last year with scheduling delays and script rewrites, and the teaser trailer released this past December seemed to indicate that the film may have suffered a bit from all of it. However, it was only a teaser, and didn’t really give us a good look at the film.

Today, the first full theatrical trailer has debuted online, and it definitely makes the film look a bit better. As someone who found the first two MIB films to be quite uniquely entertaining (albeit a bit too wacky, even for my taste), my hopes have been raised after watching this trailer. The movie looks like it will sit alongside the first two quite well and simply provide audiences with some good ol’ fashioned summer popcorn movie entertainment. Hit the jump to watch!
