Writer/Producer Howard Gordon, best known for his work on such hit TV series as 24 and The X-Files, has recently released a new thriller in the form of a novel called Gideon’s War!

In the first fiction novel ever written by Gordon, international peacemaker Gideon Davis finds himself in a bit of a fix when he is given just one day to bring his rogue brother to justice in order to stop a vast global conspiracy, which may force him to start a war in order to maintain peace.

Matt Allair from The X-Files Lexicon recently conducted a great interview with Gordon about his new book. You can watch the trailer for the novel as well as read an excerpt from Allair’s interview with Gordon after the jump!

Beavis and Butt-Head

Yes! YES! A real reason to watch MTV!

Last summer, it was revealed that Mike Judge, original creator of the hit MTV show Beavis and Butt-Head that aired from 1993-1997, is working on 30 new episodes of the series. At the time, it was not confirmed that MTV (or any other network, for that matter) would pick it up. However, we now know straight from the horses mouth that MTV has officially confirmed the return of Beavis and Butt-Head – and it will start airing this summer!

No official air date has been set, but at least we know now that the show is happening, and soon! Click here to watch an episode of the show to remember what we’ve all been missing out on for all these years!

Pee-Wee on Broadway

I must confess, I grew up on a heavy dose of Pee-Wee Herman, played by Paul Reubens. I loved Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure (directed by Tim Burton), and I tuned in to Pee-Wee’s Playhouse every Saturday morning on CBS back in the 80s. Needless to say, while I was bummed after Reubens’ “incident” in 1991, I long hoped that he’d make a triumphant return as the hilarious grown up kid that I remembered from my childhood.

Reubens has managed to maintain a fairly successful career playing other roles throughout the years, but recently he has actually resurrected the characer of Pee-Wee Herman by taking his comic sketches to Broadway as well as making various appearances on TV programs like The Tonight Show (Leno and O’Brien). Now, his Broadway show will be taking on the form of a TV special for HBO March 19th at 10 PM EST! Check out the trailer after the jump!

Fringe Producers

FOX’s TV series Fringe, while fairly successful, has not gained huge ratings for the network, and ever since the announcement came that the show was moving from Thursdays to Fridays, fans and non-fans alike assumed the worst since many of the network’s shows that made the move to Fridays ended up getting canceled.

To address the fans on this issue, Fringe‘s Facebook page posted a great little featurette with producers Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman where they address the mid-season move to Fridays and why the fans shouldn’t be worried (last Friday’s ratings should also prove to be encouraging). It really sheds some much needed light on the situation and everyone who was skeptical of the show’s new night should at least check it out. Hit the jump to watch!

David_Duchovny

We all know David Duchovny is a strong supporter of a third X-Files film. He has repeatedly said in many interviews over the last couple of years that, even though the last film wasn’t as successful as they had hoped, he is game for a third film.

But how about releasing it in the summertime, like they did with The X-Files: I Want to Believe? Would that be wise on the part of 20th Century Fox? Duchovny seems to think so. Read on for an excerpt from his interview with ShowbizSpy on the matter!

Hurley

According to a Tweet by LOST co-creator Damon Lindelof, 9,078 people played the New York Mega Millions Lottery last night, using LOST character Hugo “Hurley” Reyes’s (Jorge Garcia) “lucky” numbers from the TV series. Those numbers, being 4 8 15 16 23 42, won each person $150 since the winning numbers were 4-8-15-25-47 with a mega ball of 42!

Hurley’s numbers played a significant role on the series, both in bringing him extreme wealth ($156 million as a matter of fact) as well as extremely unlucky circumstances. They show up time and time again throughout the course of the series and end up tying in to the destinies of certain characters on “The Island.” Looks like 9,078 people – albeit a small, indirect way – have also partaken in this phenomenon.

I knew it! “The Island” is real!
