Are you the type of person who absolutely loves movies series like Star Wars or James Bond and have always wanted to do a marathon of sorts but never had the will power to sit through so many films in a row? Well, as it turns out, there is a group of movie marathoners (about 20-30 people) based out of L.A. that have sat through 4 different movies series thus far, during which they film the whole marathon, rate the films on a scale of 0-10, and neatly present it all in time-lapsed video.
So far, they have gone through the James Bond, Star Wars, Star Trek and Batman series. Watching these guys in time-lapsed video going through so many series makes my Lord of the Rings marathons look like a walk in the park! Check out these amazing videos after the jump!
James Bond (25 Films – 3 Days):
“We screened all 25 James Bond films (including the 3 “non-canon” films) in a marathon over the course of three days. Over 25 people showed up at various times.”
Star Wars (7 Films – 1 Day):
“We had a one-day Star Wars marathon of all 7 movies (theatrically released features based on the Skywalker family) with 25 of our friends. We screened the original unaltered versions of the classic trilogy and the Blu-rays of the prequels. We used the flashback order, for reasons explained here- http://www.fanpop.com/spots/star-wars/articles/17/title/best-viewing-order-star-wars-marathon“
Star Trek (11 Films, plus the Captain’s Summit documentary – 2 Days):
“We screened all 11 Star Trek films (plus Captain’s Summit) in a marathon over the course of two days and rated them. Twenty-three people showed up at various times.”
Batman (8 Films – 1 Day):
“We screened all 8 Batman movies (modern day theatrically released features) in a marathon over the course of one day. Thirty people showed up at various times, a great crowd!”
