The Tonight Show crowd erupted in applause the other night when X-Files actor David Duchovny answered Jay Leno’s question of whether or not a third film in the popular sci-fi franchise would ever see the light of day.
In short, Duchovny continues to show a great interest in returning to the franchise, and still encourages fans to campaign for The X-Files 3 by writing to 20th Century Fox. The concept of campaigning for a third X-Files film is nothing new to fans of the show. X-Philes from all over the world have been campaigning for The X-Files 3 ever since the franchise’s second film, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, came and went with a whimper (unfortunately) back in 2008. Even those that hated the last film wanted to believe it would be good, and still believe that another film could bring it all back home for one final mind-blowing outing for Mulder and Scully. In short, the fans want closure.
