While The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, the second entry in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit Trilogy, is not due out until December 13th, fans were originally only expecting to wait until the following summer for the third film, The Hobbit: There and Back Again. Now it seems that we will just have to wait another year for the third film, as Collider is reporting that the film is being pushed back five months to December 17th, 2014.
With this new Decemeber release date, X-Men: Days of Future Past will now have less competition, as that film is slated for There and Back Again‘s original July 18th, 2014 release date. However, other December 17, 2014 releases, such as Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland, will have to go up against The Hobbit.
Something tells me that one of these films will back down and find another release date.
