Warner Brothers has released the first full trailer for director Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, starring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, and it really gives us our first real glimpse into the look and feel of the film, far beyond what we saw in the teaser.
The first half of the trailer focuses more on whether or not mankind will accept someone with God-like powers, a theme that was similarly explored in the X-Men franchise. The second half, of course, shows off some great action scenes, which is essential in selling a Superman film. All in all, it’s a fantastic look into the return of the Caped Kryptonian. Hit the jump to watch!
Official Synopsis:
Next summer, “Man of Steel” is coming to the big screen. The film is from director Zack Snyder and producers Charles Roven, Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay was written by David S. Goyer from a story by Goyer & Nolan, based upon Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster and published by DC Comics.
While the trailer is pretty amazing, it is a bit disappointing that we still don’t get to see much acting from Henry Cavill, or any of the other cast for that matter from this trailer. The most important element of the film has to be how Cavill suits the role of Clark Kent/Superman (no pun intended). His character has to be the driving force of this film, and so far we haven’t seen much to show us that he’ll be able to carry that weight. Hopefully Warner Brothers is holding it all back for when we actually get to see the film next year.
Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel – produced by Christopher Nolan and written by David S. Goyer – stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Julia Ormond, Michael Shannon and Russell Crowe. It hits theaters nationwide June 14, 2013!
