Last week, we got the chance to go behind the scenes with voice actor Sam Witwer (Starkiller from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed), who voices the resurrected Darth Maul in the four-part Season Four finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which begins tonight at 8/7c. It gave us a great tease of what’s to come when his character returns in the March 9th episode of the story arc.
Now, USA Today has a great trailer online showcasing much more of Maul, as well as his brother, Savage Opress, the Nightsisters, Count Dooku, Asajj Ventress and more! If you thought Season Three’s Nightsisters trilogy was great, wait until you see the trailer for this! Be forewarned though, as the trailer appears to spoil exactly how Darth Maul is now walking around (which I have to say is totally awesome). Hit the jump to watch!
From USA Today:
“Long thought deceased, the horned villain makes his triumphant re-entry to the Star Wars universe in the March 9 episode of the Cartoon Network animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars (airing at 8 ET/PT Fridays). It’s part of an epic four-part season finale that begins Friday, as Count Dooku aims to destroy his former assassin Asajj Ventress and the Dathomirian witches known as the Nightsisters.”
“In the upcoming Clone Wars arc, General Grievous launches an attack on Maul’s homeworld of Dathomir, and Mother Talzin of the Nightsisters has told Savage Opress (voiced by Clancy Brown) about Darth Maul, sending Opress on a quest to find his long-lost brother.”
I am not exactly sure if Darth Maul has both robotic spider legs as well as robotic humanoid legs, or if the spider-legs are something else entirely. Perhaps Maul has a few choices for how he gets around? Whatever the case, I’m loving this!
