For over a decade now, Star Wars fans thought they knew everything there is to know about Darth Sidious’ Sith apprentice, Darth Maul. However, during Season 3 of Cartoon Network’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars, it was revealed that not only did Maul have a brother (Savage Opress), but that he also somehow survived being cut in half by Obi-Wan Kenobi during the climactic lightsaber battle at the end of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (click here to read about how this might be possible).
It was announced last October that Darth Maul will be returning toward the end of the current season of The Clone Wars to reveal how he survived and what he’s been up to since The Phantom Menace. Now, MTV Geek has an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at voice actors Clancy Brown and Sam Witwer voicing Savage Opress and Darth Maul, as well as some footage showcasing Maul in animated form. Don’t worry though, as the footage only shows the top half of Maul and doesn’t spoil how exactly he gets around with no legs. Hit the jump to watch!
