Remember the good old days when movies with stories of young kids setting out on some sort of great adventure were commonplace? For the longest time, the era of films like Stand by Me, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, The Goonies and The Sandlot were a lost or forgotten art form. For this very reason, director J.J. Abrams (Star Trek) and executive producer Steven Spielberg set out to recapture that magic with a little film called Super 8, set to hit theaters June 10th.
While that may seem like a little ways away yet, the first official trailer will be attached to Battle: Los Angeles, which hits theaters today! What’s even better than that is that you can simply hit the jump to check out the trailer right now!
Official Plot Synopsis from Paramount:
In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.
