From New York Comic-Con’s Official Press Release:
“The Walking Dead” tells the story of the weeks and months that follow after a zombie apocalypse. County Sheriff Rick Grimes (Lincoln) travels with his family and a small group of survivors, constantly in search of a safe and secure home. But the constant pressure of fighting off death on a daily basis takes a heavy toll, sending many to the lowest depths of human cruelty. As Rick struggles to keep his family alive, he will discover that the overwhelming fear of the survivors can be far more dangerous than the mindless walkers roaming the earth.
Warning: For mature audiences only –
I am actually really surprised that this kind of a show will be on regular cable. I can see it airing on HBO, Cinemax, or Showtime with no problem, but it may prove to be quite controversial for a channel like AMC. Definitely not for the kids, which is probably why it’ll be airing at 10 PM.
There is a lot of buzz surrounding the series, which is based on the comic book of the same name. Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption) directed the pilot episode, and both he and Gale Anne Hurd (The Terminator) are executive producers on the series. So yeah, it’s kind of a big deal. I can’t wait to check this out!!!
