Just in time for the 30th anniversary of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back comes an official announcement that George Lucas will be making a special guest appearance at the Star Wars Celebration V Convention in Orlando Florida! That’s right, Star Wars fans – “the maker” himself will be there!
From Star Wars Celebration:
This will be the second Celebration appearance, and only the third Star Wars convention appearance for the writer/director, who last attended Celebration III in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 2005.
Lucas will appear onstage at a date and time yet to be scheduled during the four-day run of the show, which takes place August 12-15, 2010 at the Orange County Convention Center.
As one who has attended the last two Star Wars Celebrations, I can say that this is the place to be for Star Wars fans. I was one of the lucky ones who got the chance to see George Lucas at the first of three Q&A sessions held at Celebration III in Indianapolis, IN, where The Clone Wars animated series and the upcoming Star Wars live-action TV series were first officially announced. He answered quite a few questions from the audience, and he was very courteous towards everyone.
Needless to say, it was one of the most memorable experiences for me, and I’m sure his next Celebration appearance in Orlando will be no different. I will certainly be there, and hopefully we’ll get some new details on the Star Wars live-action series that we have been hearing about for the last five years!
If you’re a big Star Wars fan, and can afford to attend this landmark event, head on over to Star Wars Celebration to book your ticket today!
