Ever since everyone was blown away by how awesome The Dark Knight was in 2008, people have been anxious to know when the next Batman film will hit theaters. Well, today Warner Brothers has finally announced a release date for the film! Read on to find out when the Dark Knight will return [cue drum roll]!

Warner Brothers has officially announced that the third Batman film will hit theaters July 20, 2012. While there is no official word on whether or not Christopher Nolan will return to direct, I think it is safe to assume he will since his latest film (Inception) hits theaters this July and he has nothing else lined up after that. Looks like we’ll just have to hold onto our Bat cowls a little longer to find out for sure!
