There has been some confusion over the web in the last week as to when The Hobbit films are supposed to arrive in theaters. TheOneRing.net reported earlier this past week that filming for the first Hobbit film would be delayed from March to midsummer next year, which then spurred rumors that the theatrical release of first film would be delayed until 2012. With the scripts rumored to be delayed as well, the speculation escalated even more.
So, for all of you who are confused, how about letting producer Peter Jackson clear up the rumors by watching this video interview below from Collider.
So as of right now, it looks like Peter Jackson is confident that the first Hobbit film will arrive in theaters December 2011 as planned, and the second film the following year in 2012. Ringers everywhere can rejoice!
I am not, however, liking the fact that he isn’t quite sure on when the Blu-rays of The Lord of the Rings films will be available for purchase. Now, I could care less on when the theatrical versions come out. But man! When are those great Extended versions going to get here in High-Def?!!!!
