In preparation for Universal Studios remake of The Wolfman, they have launched a new website titled “Universal Monster Legacy.” What better way to help those who are newbies to the old Universal Monster flicks get caught up and see where the new Wolfman film originated from?
“Universal Monster Legacy” incorporates a flash-based design which chronicles a time-line of all the major Universal Monster pictures, starting with The Hunchback of Notre Dame from 1923 and ending with The Creature Walks Among Us from 1956. Each film that the user selects includes a page with a synopsis and video clips, as well as art and photo galleries.
While I am a little disappointed that they did not include all the Abbott and Costello Monster films, Invisible Man sequels or The Raven – I do understand the purpose of this website, which is to simply introduce newcomers to the old Monster pictures and give them a general idea of what inspired the new Wolfman movie. It really is a well-designed website and definitely a must see for Monster fans!
Head on over to the new website to immerse yourself into the world of Universal Horror pictures!
Also, you may want to check out the booked entitled “Universal Studios Monsters: A Legacy of Horror” if you would like to dive a little deeper into this genre of film. I just received it in the mail and it is a must have for fans of the old Monster movies from Universal.
