Details have been vague in the past about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s role in Terminator Salvation. We knew he had something to do with the film, but it was unclear if he would actually appear in the film. With his busy schedule as Governor of California, it did not look likely that he would even have the time. Well apparently, he will in fact be in Terminator Salvation – but without any camera filming new scenes with him.
Variety is reporting that his likeness will be used from the first Terminator film and re-created digitally for the film:
“A body-cast mold of Schwarzenegger, created when he first appeared as the muscle-ripped cyborg, provided the basis for a digital-effects version of his famous character. The figure appears in “Terminator Salvation” as a living, breathing actor.”
I think with todays Special FX technology, this is a totally plausible way of creating a realistic-looking Terminator cyborg. This has got me even more excited for this film. I can’t wait to see 1984 Arnold back in a new Terminator movie! Click here to read the rest of the article.
